Charging gadgets is really an issue, especially when electricity supply is not plenty and it costs a lot of money as well. One must also think of the environment too. But innovation has a way out of all such problems and a 24-year-old Kenyan developer, Anthony Mutua has a solution to all of this. He has made a micro-chip that can produce electrical charge which can be utilized by a mobile while just walking.
The technology will be placed in shoes, and while you walk and talk, your mobile phone will be getting charged up all at the same time. When pressure is applied to this crystals-made ultra-thin chip, electrical charge is generated. With the help of an extension cord, this electrical charge could be supplied to a mobile for recharging. The shoes are energy saving too. They store energy which can be used later. That way, one does not has to keep on walking all the time. The idea is brilliant. The need for it is to be mass produced for the benefit of all.
Mutua hopes to do just that and Kenya’s National Council of Science and Technology is giving him $6024 as funds to begin production. With $45, it can be purchased with a warranty of two years. This idea of recharging mobiles through shoes is revolutionary. Any handheld electronic device can then be made to recharge saving a lot of electricity and cost. May be a mainstream electronics company can get an inspiration and come up with something similar, because the world sure needs energy saving.
